Juice cleanses and diet fads are all around us these days. Each diet works somewhat differently, but they all promise the same thing: you will be able to lose an incredible amount of weight in a realitively short time. In general, these diets work really well until you return to your old eating habits, at which point you will gain weight as quickly as you lost it.

Furthermore, it actually usually makes you gain weight. People doing these kinds of ‘crash diets’ often gain weight, because their hormone regulation was disturbed. These people need to eat more to feel satisfied after their diet than before it. This effect can last up to months or even years.
